Lab Data Analyzer
Paste your measurements from Excel or Google Sheets, enter the part values, and get the theory, a percent-error table and a report-ready graph in one go.
Graph and error table
How it works
The pasted table is processed only in your browser and never sent to a server. Units in the header such as (ms), (mV) or (kHz) are read and converted automatically; change them in the unit boxes if needed.
- RC charge and discharge: compared with Vc = Vs(1 − e−t/τ). τ is the time the data crosses 63.2% (36.8% when discharging), interpolated between the two neighbouring points. A τ fitted to all points by linearising the exponential is shown too, with its R².
- RC filter: the gain 20·log10(Vout/Vin) is compared with the theoretical response, and the −3 dB point is interpolated on a log frequency axis to give the cutoff. The graph switches to a log axis automatically.
- Tolerance: with the R and C tolerances, the possible range of the theory is worked out and the measured τ or fc is checked against it.
Measured values are never changed: readings that differ a lot from the trend are only highlighted in yellow. Make sure you understand the calculation and describe it in your own report; this tool does not write discussion or conclusions.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The table is processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so it works with any data. The share link stores the table in the link itself, so only people you send it to can see it.
How is the time constant found from measured data?
τ is the time at which the capacitor voltage crosses 63.2% of the source voltage when charging (36.8% when discharging), interpolated between the two neighbouring readings. A second estimate fits all points at once by taking the logarithm of the exponential and fitting a straight line, reported with its R².
Will it write my lab report?
No. It does the arithmetic, the table and the graph only. It never changes measured values and does not write discussion or conclusions; highlighted points are left for you to check and explain.
